Unicoi Aviation would like for you to meet Mark, your FAA Certified Flight Instructor.
Mark’s interest in flying began in his childhood as he built so many model airplanes that his parents were frustrated as there was virtually no room to accommodate guests. He continued to annoy his parents in his teenage years as he began flight training and became a Private Pilot before graduating from high school.
Mark’s continued aviation saga led him to completing an aircraft structural repair course, working in aviation production control and coordinating maintenance activities in the U.S. Army. He also found an opportunity to train airborne search and rescue crews.
In addition to spending many hours teaching in the classroom and in the cockpit, Mark has conducted surveillance flights for government agencies, worked as a charter pilot, transported human organs to patients in critical need, managed airport facilities, and has participated in numerous FAA approved training programs. In Mark’s 32 plus years of flying he has accumulated over 9,000 hours of flight time, including 6,000 hours giving instruction, in more than 40 types of aircraft. He has maintained a 90% success rate with his students – one of the highest in the United States. He has airplane single engine, multiengine, and instrument ratings attached to both his Commercial License and Gold Seal Flight Instructor Certificate. He also holds an Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate.
Mark is a very conscientious individual and is dedicated to thorough, quality training and safety. He hopes you will enjoy his unique brand of humor.
